Inkjet Printable Blank BluRay Disk

Posted on 4/2/2009 2:18:00 AM

Verbatim manufactures the best quality blank Blu-Ray disc.

Blank Blu-Ray disc price has came down. It was used to be $20 a piece. Now it is down to $7.75. Not bad! This is the one that I use. Verbatim BD-R and DVD-DL are the best media.

Posted by planetweckesser on 5/23/2009 7:38:00 AM Taky - how about this for BD-R? http://www.mwave.com/mwave/skusearch_v3.asp?scriteria=AA75043?

I am using these for hub-printable BD-R - they have been approved by Primera for use in their BD-R publishers and Disc Printers

Replied by LA Color Online I generally have reservation about RiData disc. Their regular blank DVD medium is okay. But then, when it comes to DVD-DL, none of the discs can be playback on DVD player. I switched to Verbatim DVD+DL, all the discs play no problem. So I don't want to chance it with expensive BD disc. Not only risking to burn coasters, it will be painful if customers came back saying they have problem playing the BluRay disc.

At least for Verbatin BD, you can trust my words so far I have zero customers say they have problem with my BluRay disc.
Posted by planetweckesser on 5/23/2009 3:28:00 PM You may be correct. I was going on the reccomendation of Primera on this article from emialive :

I have only used of the discs so far but cannot personally vouch for them. I have used TDK hub-printable BD-R over the past two years with no "coasters" in 50 discs that I have burned.

Replied by LA Color Online Barry, thanks for writing back. I read the article about Primera endorsing RiData media. It merely said it prints and burns okay with such media. The risky part is the compatibility Bluray player.

I tried RiData DVD-DL medium. They all burn and test fine. However, none of them play in set top DVD players. That's scary.

Do you have a link to the TDK BD disk you are using? I'd like to try it out if they are hub printable.
